Using RobotoSlab for body for readability. Great article with some cool images on legibility. As screen resolution increases, we should assume screen and paper are one.

Smooth integration together

eLife should be the choice for us to help. Follow their Editorial Process They and PLOS are good people.

Editorial Manager seems to be the market leader. We are trying to make something better and more accessible. Their LiXuid program is moving to XML while we go Markdown.
Their Tutorial for Editors is a hefty PDF that is archaic but a good starting point to review current workflows.

BioMedCentral has a nice guide to the peer review process
