Russian cyrillic characters are displayed wrong in Counter Strike 1.6 about halflife HOT 8 OPEN

Confirm this issue on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64bit.

To fix it, remove package ttf-bitstream-vera.

I think you are missing the required fonts. I've also never been able to see cyrillic characters ingame on Windows so I'm not sure if this is a bug.

@NullCollision this is isn't a font problem, everything fine on my system with cyrillic, instead of counterstrike.

The HL1 engine doesn't support extended character sets (you see the same problem with the current client). Marking this as a feature request as it would be nice to add support here.

Could you give some screenshots as an example (or better yet server IP's to add to favorites to see this)? In particular shots of it working and it not working, so I can tell what I am meant to see :)
