The open function should work as follows:

• run "New" even handler for cleanup
• read CS file as string
• wrap the loaded string with some code, for example:

    class DateLoader1242
    {
        public DateLoader1242(Scintilla scintilla1)
        {
            // <loaded code>
        }
    }

• compile & load the generated code
• create class instance

i just start working with your amazing tool. I had a look at your examles, specially "ScintillaNET-Kitchen". There the control has the property ShowLineMargin.

If i add the NuGet packet and use the control i don't have this property

If one follows these steps, highlighting is not performed:

• paste sample code
• switch to correct lexer
• run random foreground colour tool
  The "fix" is to change at least one keyword set - even by simple supplying empty space.

Forcing repainting of the control doesn't seem to fix anything.

Now attach a screenshot, I have set the font size and the default color, but nothing has changed in the editor (
