covid19-twitter.in's Issues

Filter by date

As the app currently stands, there's no way to filter out tweets that came before a certain date. Twitter search has since:YYYY-MM-DD and until:YYYY-MM-DD for exactly this purpose, and the HTML5 spec defines the <input type="date"> element that could be used to accept input for this. (Alternatively, one could calculate a date from an arbitrary period (say, two weeks) before the current day and show tweets since then.)

Update README

Getting contributors would be difficult without steps to set the project up locally.

[Feature-Request] Dropdown list that auto suggests on typing

With a text input box, there are bound to be typos when searching for particular cities, thus creating a wrong query
and wasting valuable time.
I suggest there should be a dropdown box that auto suggests the city name when the user starts typing.
Happy to create a PR.

Search for tests?

Saw a few tweets looking for tests. Might be worthwhile to add, disabled by default.

Exclude the word "no" from searches

Tweets that say "Hospital beds available in with no oxygen, no ventilators" are also shown up. There should probably be an option to remove this.

Concern: People would have shortened "phone number" to "phone no." or "phone no" and that shouldn't get excluded.

Not really sure what the UX should look like for this. Or if this is even worth it and improves the search results.

Update UI to be more user friendly & interactive.

Hey @umanghome I am quite impressed by your initiative of this project, its a great contribution from tech industry toward the pandemic. This application has a vast scope to cover and comparatively very less time to be in action, I would love to contribute here in any way possible to achieve the need of the hour.
I can improvise the UI of site making the application more user-friendly and interactive, Have being through some pull request and issues, it seems you are already working on layout, kindly let me know if how can I help you in doing so.

[Feature-Request] Fetch Tweet and check, verification time

The Covid resources come and get shared/ utilized within a matter of minutes, hence contacts verified around 2 hours ago are obsolete, specifically for large cities like Delhi. I request a feature to fetch and check the verification time.

Exclude "not verified"

Feedback from someone over Twitter:

Just that I found some twitter posts which said not verified. But it popped up in verified because the verified keyword was there. So maybe have a "AND NOT "not verified" or something.

Add a license

The project as it stands is missing a license. You might wanna add one if the project is going to be open-source. I recommend MIT or another permissive license.

Telegram search support

Explore if it is possible to find the same kind of search results on telegram groups which are open to the public

README IMPORTANT

Why are you not merging the branches? people are contributing and you are not merging?
Please do merge the branches, their is not conflict in those branches.

Rearrange layout to give more prominence to the generated link

It might be better to rearrange certain sections to improve visibility of important items. If you can make it a 3-column layout on desktop that'd be great. In that scenario, Tips, Resources, and other footer items can go to the left column. But if that's not easy, you may want to move the generated link on the top of the right column and make it a bit more prominent. Here's a mockup of what I mean:
