newest version of both sbt and java

i switched to linux and it worked fine but i donot know why its not working on windows

By "newest version" of java, do you mean Java 10? Scala and SBT have historically been spotty with Java 10. Can you try Java 8?

It simply doesn't work on windows...

It should work on Windows, but to my knowledge, none of the developers are using Windows so it's kind of hard for us to test... If anyone wants to help debug we would greatly appreciate it.
