yaru's Issues

Infobar.info can't be the same color as the progressbar

Epiphany uses infobar.info (blue) and usually has a progressbar under/above (can't remember) it so the two elements blend into each other.

Possibly purple can be used here for a nice nod to it, but also orange if the purple is too far removed from the other colors.

Headerbar buttons are too big

With a smaller headerbar, buttons are a little too close to the edges of the headerbar. For uniformity they should be smaller overall, maybe just shave off 1/2px. Whatever dimensions we choose, image buttons need to be 1:1 in size.

Replace check and radio ticks with smaller variant

Right now these are pulled from the icon pack but they're a little too big. They should be based on Suru's, just a little smaller. The radio "tick" should be a dot as it is in Adwaita (the current check is being used as a placeholder as there's no appropriate icon in the suru icon theme).

Window buttons' background is too large

I think right now the background-image is 22x22px but maybe it's too large? Especially for the close button which seems really tall in the shorter GTK2 titlebars.

How about 20x20px?

Pathbar of unfocused window is inconsistent

Focused

Unfocused

image

I think the solution is to darken all the buttons on the pathbar on unfocused windows since it seems to be common for elements to apear "inactive" when the window is unfocused. Example in gnome tweaks

Although now that I look at it, there seems to be a tiny difference between active and disabled buttons on inactive windows.

Not showing all tray icons

when using tray icon not all tray icons of installed app appear. I have skype and dropbox installed and only appear if I'm using ubuntu section and not communitheme section

White border in checked+backdrop switch

A white border appears on checked switch when in backdrop state.
The issue is more visible in headerbar switches because of the background, but it looks that all checked switches have it, while unchecked ones do not.

Terminal color scheme

I'd like to discuss the terminal color scheme a bit. I did some research and surprisingly, there is only one "engineered" terminal color scheme: Solarized. When you start using Solarized, you immediately feel that it is an extremely readable color scheme. It's very friendly for colorblind people because of the combination of both color wheel and lightness relationships. As a result, the difference between red and orange for example is still clear to me.

The Unity8 color scheme looks similar to Solarized, but it is a bit less clear, even though it is a lot better than the default Gnome color scheme. The Ambiance color scheme sits in between Solarized and Unity8 in terms of clarity.

Solarized dark is shipped with Gnome Terminal, but it is disabled by default. You can try it out in edit>profile preferences>colour.

I've been comparing them for the past few days and my preference goes out to using Solarized Dark, because it is simply the clearest color scheme. However, the disadvantage of that approach is that the color scheme isn't "branded".

What do you guys think?

non-headerbar pathbar needs love

It seems like the non-headerbar pathbar needs some love, right now it uses the same hoover font as a headerbar pathbar.

Also, for some reason, the "home" button is still a regular button.. ๐Ÿค”

Decrease the default interface font size

The default font size is HUGE and makes the UI look very cluttered. Although I'm using 9 on my desktop, I think Ubuntu regular 10 as default would be a good choice for most people.

Tweak the orange line in stackswitcher

Currently the orange line isn't centered between the bottom and the label.

I know this is a hairsplitting detail, but this really bugs my eye nonetheless. Could we do one of the following: centered, right underneath the label or at the bottom?

one-pixel white line

I get a one-pixel white line at the top of the screen on my second monitor. Anyone able to reproduce this?

I don't get it with Ambiance and Adwaita. Strange that it's a gtk bug, I thought it was a gnome-shell bug at first, but changing the gtk theme fixes it.

context menu needs to be updated (?)

Should consult with everyone first as this involves limiting the orange.

current

Should be an easy "fix", just let the background color for hovered items in the context menu be the same color as the one for the popover menu items.
