The grey titles are somewhat blurry/hard to read, and all font sizes would improve if enlarged somewhat.

Russia, etc, show up as we look beyond just Alaska place names.

Even Utqiavik has a ? character in place there.

Render Alaska basemap again but with larger bounding box (approx 5 additional degrees on all sides should do it).

See attached image. Either our CartoCSS isn't coloring this correctly or we need to submit a correction to the underlying OSM data for this feature.

we really need alaska-3338.yml, alaska-3572.yml, arctic-3572.yml, and so forth. Then we can properly adjust the parameters for the projection, bounds, etc in each project.yml so we don't need to mess with the generated xml.

Will need to find a specific example of this, but there are a bunch of places where the titles are split. This sometimes happens on the real OSM servers, too, but we see it a little bit too much here.

Probably we need to bump the font size and make the halos rather strong.

Sometimes we have raster data that can overlay the map in a way that obscures places names or makes them look messy.

Create another stylesheet variation that only shows place names, so we can put that on top of other/raster layers.
