u-wave-source-youtube's Issues

Synced playlists

Goal: auto update imported üWave playlists when they are updated on YouTube. YT and üWave have very different playlists. With the below proposal, you could still add songs from other services to the synced playlist. You could also still edit and move playlist items.

Things needed:

  • Tag playlist items with some meta information about the YouTube playlist they are in, and the order in that playlist.
  • Tag synced playlists with their YouTube playlist ID and most recent update.
  • Allow sorting by alphabet, üWave order, YouTube order in HTTP API.

To sync:

  • Check latest update time to the playlist on YouTube. Probably do this regularly while the user is connected, and once when they log in.
  • Fetch playlist items, if we can sort results by time added that would be best but it might not be possible…
  • When a video ID appears in the YouTube playlist but not the üWave playlist, do the usual adding thing.
  • When a video ID does not appear in the YouTube playlist, but appears in the üWave playlist and does not have YouTube meta data, remove it from the üWave playlist.
  • When a video has a different order in the YouTube vs. üWave playlist, update the YouTube order metadata in the üWave playlist.

If using social login; you could drop songs into playlists in üWave and it would add them on YouTube.

Importing private playlist error message is unhelpful, ish

It returns this to clients:

The request is not properly authorized to retrieve the specified playlist.

Which is not a very nice message. We should catch it and return something friendlier like:

That playlist could not be imported. If it's a private playlist, change its visibility to Unlisted and try again.
