The zip contains the following file/folder
- pom.xml: Maven build file
- src/ : All the Java source code and resource file
- executables/WebStatApp.jar : compiled binary file, ready to use. But steps to build the app from sources code also provided
- logs/ 4.1 programming-task-example-data.log: Given sample log 4.2 test1.log: Extra log to test other case
- Java 8
- Maven >= 3.3.3
Build the project with maven
mvn clean install
A final jar file, named "WebStatApp.jar" produced in target/
Use the following command:
java -jar <path/to/WebStatApp.jar> <path/to/input_file>
For example:
In the root folder, run
java -jar executables/WebStatApp.jar logs/programming-task-example-data.log

Note that even though it asks for the top 3, but we also return all IPs/urls with the same rank count. In this particular case, all 3 "177.71.128.21", "50.112.00.11", "72.44.32.10" rank 2nd, and have the same count (e.g 3), so they should all be returned.
To test the case where the counts are more distinctive, a different test1.log is provided. So if run:
java -jar executables/WebStatApp.jar logs/test1.log
