This isn't an actual issue, I just wanted to say hi to Great Torvalds!
Finally, I've made the license be GPLv2 (which is basically my default
license), but this is a quick hack and if you have some reason to want
to use this where another license would be preferable, email me and we
can discuss the issue. I will probably accommodate other alternatives in
the very unlikely case that somebody actually cares.
@torvalds Can you make it GPLv3?
hi :)
I figured out how to make templates in C89 AND how to potentially syncronise threads via a linked list (no mutices, semaphores, atomics etc) and figured maybe they could both be used to make linux even better than it already is.
For the template one I'll point to code actually using it for fixed width (not bit width, simply that they can be statically declared) integers:
https://gitlab.com/awsdert/dragonbuilder/-/blob/main/include/paw/pawint/pawe128d.h
As for the linked list thread syncronisation, the code I have is not in actual use simply because I feel like I missed something that should be considered, perfectly happy to let the technique be copied if I haven't though, all under MIT License:
https://gitlab.com/awsdert/dragonbuilder/-/blob/main/include/paw/_/all/all_pawsyn.h
And just in case the files do change in the future, here's the "historic" versions (I just went into file history and copied the latest hashed address):
Please do let me know if either happened to be useful
@torvalds Hey Linus what is the purpose of life?
I hope u can appreciate I'm spending part of my life trying to make you notice me.
Hey what about if we go and grab a beer and get both of us wasted as fuck and play some Fornite.
Nice pet project, this, Linus.
However, how about a pet project to solve the fucking binary distribution problem on Linux? The "year of the Linux desktop" will not happen until you solve this.
In return, I will pet your cat, bring you coffee and recite LKML for two weeks.
@torvalds Just wondering.
