Need to export existing blog posts, pages, and media (e.g., PDFs, images, etc.) from the current Wordpress site.

After briefly looking, the wordpress-to-jekyll-exporter may be the best tool.

Wordpress used [caption] tags under images. Need to switch this to standard captioning.

Wordpress required the use of [Slideshare] tags to embed presentations. Need to write a script to change this to a standard embed mechanism

RSS feed probably isn't useful; switch this to a writing icon to link to blog.

Blog entries imported from Wordpress are too lengthy in the Jekyll version. Need to write a script that:

• Shortens the excerpts used from the blog language
• Adds shorten excerpt to YAML header

No need to have a database for this action

Wordpress required any embeds of Gist code would need a [gist] shortcode. Need to switch this to the standard embed code.

Wordpress required all Scribd embeds to use [Scribd] instead of standard embedding. Need to write a script that replaces these shortcode embeds with standard embeds.

Export Wordpress comments and import into Disqus
