Output at proj/out, not proj/templates/out

The spec is a bit ambiguous regarding this, since it's not clear what the template root is. But all Chris repos (and others too) have the structure:

proj
   templates/...
   out/...

while your builder produces:

proj
   templates/out

Undefined `[]' for nil:NilClass (NoMethodError)

Hi, I have this issue when I try to build with ./builder:

I tried with both Ruby 2.3.3 and 2.4.0, same issue.

Requirements

Could you document the required Ruby modules needed for this? I had to play a game of run, install, run, install, run, install...

Slow performance

Cloning performance is really slow (unacceptable), and template building performance could be better.
