Haskell Toolbox is an overview of open source Haskell packages, organized by category and ranked by popularity.

Features:

  • A searchable list of categories
  • For each category a page with packages in that category, ranked by popularity
  • For each package a page with information on that package, its competitors and its most popular dependant packages

Main page:

  • List of most popular packages
  • List of most popular categories
  • Search bar that searches through both packages and categories

(Co) Category page:

  • List of most popular packages
  • List of most popular co-categories

Packages page:

  • List of packages with similar categories sorted by popularity

There should be more metrics for package popularity

We could do:

  • GitHub popularity (stars, forks)
  • GitHub repo popularity (i.e. look at all CabalFile's that are on GH, and look at their deps)
  • Recent popularity (i.e. exclude packages that haven't had an update in X months)
  • Popularity growth
