I was thinking someone might skip over that and not realize the purpose of grid-collapse if they aren’t looking for nested grids.

I've been having trouble with this one too- and will be interested to see what the answer is.
I haven't been able to find a solution so far.

It would be nice to have a "gutter position" option in the Neat Grid settings, similar to Susy 2, where you can define your gutters to be added as margin before, after or split (on both sides) of each grid column.

You may be looking for @include grid-collapse; - which consumes the gutters to create the equivalent of a container that visually has no margin left/right. eta: This should apply to the parent container if you're not nesting a grid.

We should document this on http://neat.bourbon.io/examples/

Would anyone like to open a PR on thoughtbot/neat.bourbon.io to do that?

Nevermind, removed my old comment. Seems using @include grid-collapse; on the parent container does solve the issue, strange that this isn't default as I remember it being so on the older versions of Neat.

I believe it is documented on the examples already under the Nest one grid inside another section http://neat.bourbon.io/examples/

I'll work on adding an example to the pages so that it is more clear. In the mean time, @dayul, you can see more of just how grid-collapse works over at https://robots.thoughtbot.com/nesting-grids-with-neat-2.

"Nesting" grids seemed to be the most common end-goal in the 1.x issues, and requests for documentation in the 2.x issues. Although a desire to remove the left-margin is effectively the same thing, I don't see a lot of requests that go straight to this end. Putting one grid a column of another seems to be much more common.
