We need to ditch abootimg dependency, it produces broken images if your bootimg header version is >1 (and doesn't even strip the systempart argument anymore which apparently could now be in form systempart=/dev/mapper/system:ro)

Commands that ended up creating a proper modified boot.img instead of this script:

mkbootimg/unpack_bootimg.py --boot_img boot.img --format=mkbootimg > mkbootimg_args
sed 's| systempart=/dev/mapper/system:ro||' -i mkbootimg_args
sh -c "mkbootimg/mkbootimg.py $(cat mkbootimg_args) --out droidian-boot.img"

This script should maybe check if you have unpack_bootimg and mkbootimg executables available already and only them clone the repo and use it instead to avoid downloading duplicates of tools you already have installed (but make it still conveniently work on any distribution that has python3 and git installed (which also could be checked for).

Example of this script not working:
