Install

Simply Download mobslide from releases on your PC and start it

I installed, what's now?

Open some presentation in Powerpoint / Google Slides

Scan the QR and control it with your phone!

Supported plaforms

Works on MacOS and Windows.

Tauri for linux doesn't support webrtc so currently Linux isn't supported

Gotchas

App won't open on Windows

Click the 3 dot -> then Run anyway

App won't open on macOS

The app signed with developer key. Install it by right click -> open. then you will need to open it once again from applications in finder, with another right click.

Keys doesn't work

On macOS you will need to accept accessibility permission. if it doesn't ask open it from System settings -> Privacy & Security -> Pick mobslide and enable.

[Feature Request]: Linux Support

Describe the feature

Currently, the Tauri framework depends on WebKitGTK, which lacks support for WebRTC. As a result, Mobslide does not function on Linux. We aim to enable WebRTC support either by integrating it into WebKitGTK, a choice likely to benefit many users, or by implementing a workaround.

Volumes buttons does not work on MacOS

Currently trying this project, and I've encountered some problems:

The QR Code never loads, it stays spinning forever, as seen below:

Also, another problem that I'm not entirely sure is related or not to the first problem. Even if I copy the URL manually and paste it in my browser or send it to my mobile device, it isn't able to connect:

I'm running the project in MacOS 14, with Apple Silicon, building from source.

general questions

Cool app.

I am able to get it to run locally using npm run dev -- --host 0.0.0.0 in web and cargo tauri dev in the desktop.

I am wondering how or what you have setup on https://thewh1teagle.github.io/mobslide/ which is where the released binary has the QR code pointed to? Did you host the web folder in github pages?

It doesn't work for MacOS M1

It seems that it doesn't work for Macbook arm platform.
