junction's Issues

Add 'EURO SIGN' (U+20AC)

Please add the Euro Sign (€).

The lack of this sign is a big downside against using this font.
Keep the good work ;)

Cant load "regular" weight in Mac OS High Sierra

This is weird, but in 10.13.6 (17G7024) i'm seeing Light and Bold but not Regular...

Has anyone else seen this issue? I tried installing both .otf and .ttf, and tried uninstalling all and installing in different orders too. Any help appreciated!

Add ş

Şş is the only letter required by Turkish that Junction doesn't support.

Make Junction V2

Hi,

I don't have any experience in creating font and I don't want to edit Junction by myself to make a mess and creating a font where all letters look weird.

I would love to see a second version of Junction. Junction is a nice humanist font, but I would love to see a more transitional version while keeping the authenticity of Junction. Could call the font "Junction Tr".

Whatever, here are some of the changes I would like to see for the new font :

  • Fixe default line height which is currently too small. IMAGE
  • Make the shape more round. IMAGE
  • Keep the terminal on the a. Make something like that but better than me. IMAGE
  • Straight line for those letters IMAGE
  • Make the numbers sit on the baseline by default and make them more simple.

I think those change could be one of the most perfect font out there. I don't know if it's possible to create that or write me back if you want more informations. I'm not a font designer, so I don't want to mess with that.

Thank you

Webfonts: 'upper-case' numerals instead of text numerals

Context: Firefox under Linux Mint 17.1

In web fonts, the nice default text numerals of standard Junction fonts are replaced by boring, 'upper-case' numerals. Also, it seems not possible to activate the 'onum' feature via the "font-feature-settings" CSS declaration.

This applies at least to the .woff format (the one used by Firefox) and to all three weights.

Text numerals appear as expected if the standard font installed in the client is used instead of the web font on the server.

Font names

Would updating the font names in the OTF files be considered? Currently have

  • Junction-Light
  • Junction-Regular
  • Junction-Bold

Would expect these to be

  • Junction Light
  • Junction
  • Junction Bold

font appears with asterisk in Illustrator CS4 on OSX, doesn't render

I'm getting a font substitution for Junction even though it's installed and shows up in Font Book; I'll search for this in case it's not related to the font file, but just wanted to know if I was doing something dumb. I have used older versions of Junction before without this issue; this is a version with multiple weights. If it's helpful i'm happy to provide more info or testing.

Truncated diacritics over capital letters in all three fonts

At least on my Windows (7) laptop, no matter whether using WP software (WordPad on up) or font examining software (eg Nexusfont or PopChar), all three "Junction"s -- Regular, Light, and Bold -- have diacrictic letters, i.e. with circumflexes, tildes, breves, umlauts, rings, etc, that work just fine in lowercase, but have the diacritics truncated when the letters are uppercase [ĈĤŜ]... because then the diacritics extend "out of the box", too high for the range defined by the glyph. Do these actually work on any other system?!

Unfortunately, this problem makes the fonts unusable for, say, Esperanto publishing, which otherwise they would suit very nicely.

I hope this project is still active. I haven't seen any other editing in the past two years.

Rendering bug: Firefox and ffi ligature

I tried to use Junction as a webfont, but encountered the following issue:
When using Firefox (maybe other browsers, too), the ffi ligature is incorrectly rendered as fffi in headings, but not in regular text. I guess this is related to the CSS property "text-rendering: optimizeLegibility". I tried different settings, but without success.

I assume that this issue is related to the font, not to Firefox, because it works well for other fonts.

I noticed this in the German word "auffindbar" (traceable) and provided a minimal example here (please ignore the self-signed cert):
https://84.200.213.91/junction-test/

The example will be online until 12/31/2014 or until this bug is fixed, whichever is first ;-)
