About me

I'm Taylor Smith, Principal ML Engineer at Toyota Connected. In my day-to-day, I work on training and deploying Tensorflow language models into our Kubernetes cluster to support dozens of microservices. In my spare time, I actively maintain pmdarima, Python's leading equivalent to R's auto.arima.

Track oldest TS somehow

Need to record the oldest available message that HASN'T been deleted, so reaper doesn't search entire channel history (including deletions) every time and get a whole bunch of message_not_found errors.

Several ideas:

  • Maintain an actual JSON file with channel names mapping to the oldest TS. This is very manual and painful...
  • Maybe add new slackmoji reaction, and prior to deleting a message react with it. In the future, skip messages with the reserved reaction, since that indicates already deleted.
