I have added custom book (which isn't in any of library databases) and book has 3 authors. I have tried to add all 3 but it only display first author not others. Is this intended action or just a bug?

Nice idea; I had seen it, but I had not paid much attention to it.

I'd like to do it, but a quick hack copied from this Medium article and codelabs article with or without the "ThemeOverlay.Material3.DynamicColors.DayNight" did not give any good results (the Toolbar was a horrible harsh blue with black text; unreadable) so I presume tuning of the colours will be needed.

I'll add it to the backlog with a promise that I will not forget revisiting this.

Hello new user here! Nice app, a book tracker with google books support, hell yeah! Just one suggestion for the better uniform appealing way of the app, pls add grid option, overall the ui seems neat and the design is okay.

Oh just a heads-up, the external image custom support is not working, I keep click the missing image poster, but ot doesn't seem to prompt my file manager, that's all I bet

If possible, add the "reading" status to filter/sort when using the read/unread. It'll be when there's a start date but no end date.

If I might make a feature request as well? The ability to either schedule backups on a regular basis, or when edited (though I realize this may need a sort of hourly checker or something so that it doesn't try to backup a million times if I'm editing a bunch at once) like Aegis. I have syncthing copy my backups away, and having them automated is so wonderful. If I could schedule it to create a backup at midnight if there were any unsaved edits since the prior midnight, that would be ideal (for me). If that's down the list, that's totally fine, I can make it part of my regular backup routine, but automation and scheduling is just bomb. Thanks!

I'm quite almost satisfied with the "customizable views", but the grid mode is lacking. I like to view my books as a "waterfall of cover" and edit from here.

But at this time we cannot remove the dashed button, and the cover are small, however I do increase the cover size slider.

Is this something you plan to improve?

Loving your app, specially the batch scan codes, I did not know I wanted that, easier to process a whole bookshelf.

Do the export functionality works? not sure if I am doing something wrong.

I am clicking on the button on the bottom right, and getting that error. Not clear what I do need to select or how.

I only have a couple books in a newly created bookshelf, if that matters.

I just figured if the app can manage book lending, I need to see which books are lent out the most or which books are not lent out.

In general, statistics on all aspects related to books such as the number of pages read per year/month/day. Number of books lent by year/month/day.. The thickest or thinnest book.

So the statistics could be in one of the tabs in the bottom bar that I mentioned in the previous issue, for example 😁

When I use "New and Updated" (I'm revamping my library since why not), it causes the entries to duplicate, is there a way to easily remove the old entries? Or even better, if the app automatically updates them?

When trying to crop a cover image left & right, one needs to swipe from the screen sides to the center. However, that is impossible on Android 12+ with gesture navigation enabled as then the back action is triggered instead.

This may be improved when cropping is possible either by pinching with two fingers as well or by allowing to swipe further from the center.

Is there a way to initiate a "Update fields" process for all books in a collection? Or at least to Update fields for all books in a bookshelf or expanded section? I realize that for a large book collection this may take some time, but it seems a laborious process to update books for each author individually.

On next update focus on UI it feels really bad in this UI also add material themed menus and avoid a loading screen pops up

No matter which book's title I search for in order for it to be added to my library I always get a message "Searching for the book failed"

First there needs to be the bottom bar, where a few tabs are placed.

One tab for finished books, one for reading books, and one for want to read books. And one for Lending books - maybe.

I know I'm asking for the feature of a book tracking app, while this is a book collection app, but who knows, maybe the feature and UI will work well together.

Finally, this app has a very nice Material You design, it would be more perfect if it also supported Dynamic Accent Colors.

If I choose to take a photo (from camera) of my book cover, it does not load the photo into the field and never saves it.

I have had several updates sin e the öast time I opened the app, because I haven't had time to make use of it lately, even though I wanted to. Anyways, after the most recent update, I tried to open the app and it was not possible, althpugh it led me to the settings for maintenance, where I was able to extract the attached log file. Maybe you can do something useful with it.

New bug:
Keeps crashing everytime I try to create an Author!!!

I insert the ISBN, it does not get neither the title nor the author name and when try to create the author it crashes!

I also tried adding manually and got the same result!

(Also, shouldn't the language offer a pre-set languages list?)

In my custom book listing style, I have enabled author and publisher, but only author is showing, maybe this is a bug?

I listen audiobooks from https://librivox.org/ a non-commercial, non-profit and ad-free project (See their About & Wiki page). It's a great project for completely free legal audiobooks.
I simply copy the RSS link from a specific book & use it on my AntennaPod app.

Would be nice if we could fetch metadata from there to track our Audiobooks on NTMB app.

Hi, the sizes of the style-chooser and the filter dialogs are messed up/not working for me in portrait mode. In landscape mode they work fine.

New the NTMB can't support Chinese books very well, could you consider supporting it.

i like the app, was surprised to know that there's a calibre connect option, so tried it, but it requests ajax, and in calibre there's no ajax, and there's no extension with that name either, so how to connect the app with calibre server?

Bottom sheet is part of Material Design 3, it helps make options more within reach of the finger in today's context of long and large phone screens.

I found that the pop-up menus below is both small and high, making it difficult to optimize use:

It would be great if a long press on the book cover revealed a bottom sheet, a common behavior of Google's Material Design 3 apps, which would really help optimize app usability.

Would be awesome to have not only an option to tick 'read' but also which page is the current (I read the same books on many different devices).

When I search a book (both via ISBN and title) the app does not recognise that the phone is connected to internet and does not do the search.

This starts with an inability to edit books. I had a list I imported from Book Catalogue, which worked fine. When I try to edit a book, it crashes. At this point, the window that pops up has buttons that are very hard to see in a dark theme. When I go to send an email, it creates it and attaches the txt file, but doesn't populate an address to send to, so I can't send it.
If I try to add a book, I can search by ISBN but it says searching on Amazon failed. However, it still brings me to the book page and it's correct. If I go to save it, it says "Please check that storage is writable, and has sufficient space." I know that I have tons of space remaining, and no issues writing from any other app. There is only internal storage, no SD card.
I figured that if I uninstalled, I could try it new and import from Book Catalogue again. I did that, but it apparently remembers everything I had, so it's not even a fresh start? I try clearing data in Android settings before uninstalling, and it's the same result. The storage error occurs if I install an older version (which doesn't remember my books).

I want to ask f-droid to add it, and they require the developer to be notified

Seemingly built-in booklist styles use one "Default" setting, and each custom rule use individual settings.
If we split them into two sections, built-in and custom, the list should be more organized, since each style only uses two lines.
and users then would be less confused about questions like "I changed the sorting setting in Settings, why the booklist stayed the same".

The Vietnamese translation is 43% done by hosted.weblate and it seems like you won't merge it until it reaches 100%.

This is extremely unusual. But if you want something 100% perfect like a German often want, would you accept a full localization PR? I'd rather translate the whole strings and do PR than work hard on the weblate!

Grid view has the corner of the cover image protruding from the outer border. Makes the visual experience not good.

Increase the border-radius for the cover image to match the outer border.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Turn off the border-radius of the outer border so the grid view will be rectangular, matching the cover image.

for the book with the ISBN 3518366823, the app fetches a listed price of 7.0

This formatting makes the app freeze, since the field is expecting 7,0

I can't import my books. I tried importing from Book Catalogue backup, from .CSV and also from json. I always get the message that an unknown error occurred.

Most of the time when adding a book, the image is wrong and back is missing. I try the other editions feature and it returns no results or not the correct cover. But , when I look at open library, both covers are there. It would be nice to scan the image from there instead of me having to take a photo myself.

Also, is there a way you know of to get a source the app uses to send a photo ofy book to them so they can update theirs? Sorry for the bad english I am half asleep.

Fetching covers from the internet in portrait mode is not usable as the popup is "too slim"
(landscape mode is OK)

It'd be nice to have a section for reviews, and it'd be even nicer if the user could make a review "template" and choose from it (book, novel, for work, study, etc)
