Most of the art assets have concept art available at http://forum.terasology.org/threads/las-light-and-shadow-art-discussion.762/. Some might even be partially complete - check the relevant issue or ask on IRC (freenode: #terasology) to see if that's the case.

The L&S style basic blocks have a more sharp look than normal dirt & grass, but the snow-side block is still old school.
Easy fix!
If you request an ace as an item:
giveItem "LightAndShadowResources:clubsAce"
It works and gives you one item. But it is invisible in the inventory/toolbar (can just see the tooltip) and it can't seem to be placed
