== Description ==

Make it easy for your visitors to navigate around your website, by including detailed descriptions for each nav menu item.

WordPress has a built-in description field for nav menu items, however the description isn't used anywhere by default.

This plugin adds the description information to your theme's nav menu output, so that they can be styled using CSS.

== Installation ==

1. Download the latest stable version of the plugin from https://github.com/OM4/nav-menu-descriptions/archive/release.zip.
1. Install this plugin via WordPress Dashboard, Plugins, Add New, Upload.
1. Go to Dashboard, Menus, Screen Options, and enable the Description field.
1. Add descriptions to one or more nav menu items and save the menu.
1. View the website. The descriptions are now included in the HTML markup.
1. Optional: add some custom CSS rules to style the descriptions: `.nav .menu-item .menu-item-description {  }`
