ae2things-forge's Issues

Advanced Inscriber messed up times.

The advanced inscriber is eating items on itself. When this happens the item disappeares when the process is complete. If a printing press is included then the finished product teleports into my ME storage.

advanced inscriber

while playing ATM 8. the advanced inscriber is not allowing the presses to be output with any AE2 possibilities.
once i pull the presses out manually the inscriber continues on with its crafting till it issues another press and locks up.

when running autocrafting the system claims it needs 9 presses when crafting 10 logic processors or 99 if try for 100. not sure why would need so many presses for a repeat crafting. only thing i can do to fix is go to original inscriber of AE 2 at this point

Crash on startup

Request for Adding an Unlimited Storage Disk

I am writing to suggest the addition of an unlimited storage disk feature to your awesome AE2Things project. This feature would be extremely useful for users like me who require extensive storage capabilities for their projects.
With the current limitations on disk storage, it can be quite challenging to work on large-scale projects without running into issues. By implementing an unlimited storage disk, users will have the flexibility to work on their projects without worrying about running out of storage space.
Furthermore, this feature would also be beneficial for users who need to store and manage large amounts of data for their applications or experiments. It would greatly enhance the overall user experience and make AE2Things an even more powerful tool for developers and researchers.
I understand that implementing such a feature may come with its own set of challenges, but I believe that the benefits it would bring to the users would be well worth the effort.
Thank you for considering my suggestion, and I look forward to seeing the enhancements that AE2Things will bring in the future!

Port in 1.16

Hi

Do you want to do a port of this mod on 1.16.5 (Forge)

Thanks

Can't automate processors with advanced inscribers

With AE2 Things v1.0.1-beta, I can attach a pattern provider to the advanced inscriber, give it a recipe that says "circuit, printed silicon, and redstone makes a processor", and it just makes it.

With AE2 Things v1.0.2-beta, this doesn't work anymore. It doesn't insert the items at all. Auto-crafting the circuits and printed silicon does still work though

Both were tested with Applied Energistics 11.0.0 (release, not alpha) and Forge 40.1.20, using this setup (yes, I know the quartz fibre on the bottom isn't needed):

[Suggestion]: Port the Network Visualisation Tool to 1.18+ from AE2 Stuff

The Network Visualisation Tool (spelling should have been Visualization :D) was a very helpful item in AE2 Stuff for 1.12.

It was really easy to visually see where all your channels were going and if something wasn't working, it would render a red line/box, etc. and help troubleshoot a network that, for example, had too many channels going somewhere (like when I've forgotten to put an anchor and there was unintentional link(s)).

It helped me when I was teaching friends AE2 and eventually they were able to troubleshoot themselves instead of having extra eyes go over every single connection to figure out where things went wrong.

This has saved me a TON of time in the past.

Example of how it looks in-game-

[Question] How to I recover the UUID for a DISK?

So I lost a 256k DISK that had a lot of stuff on it, thankfully I still have the disk_manager.dat file in my save's data folder. I've tried looking at disk_manager.dat with NBTExplorer, and it's not obvious what I'm looking at when I open the diskuuid entry. Thank you for reading this.

Advanced Inscriber Automation Issues

This mod is installed as a part of All the Mods 7, and I just started setting up some automation for AE2 circuits. However, I've noticed some things. Firstly, there is no option to lock slots within the machine. Additionally, while setting up my final assembly inscriber, using an exporter to keep the advanced inscriber stocked with printed silicon will fill both the top and bottom slots in the machine, regardless as to which face of the block the export bus is placed. Workarounds include not using the advanced inscriber specifically for the final assembly of processors, or by having an advanced inscriber dedicated to each of the 3 processors, with level emitters. Some level of control as to which face of the machine is tied to a certain input slot would be appreciated.

Mod Crash

AE2T on 1.19.2 stops world loading with a crash. I have been able to reproduce with the addon on it's own with AE2. latest.log crash log

Feature

Right now the cell dont rlly work with the cell workbench as in they dont accept upgrades like fuzzy cards

[Bug] Level Emitter causes extreme TPS drop when using Deep Item Storage Disks

Describe the bug

When using 256k disks which have a large amount of items in them, level emitters become extremely slow and gradually eat more tick time as more items are added to the network.

How to reproduce the bug

I managed to reproduce the bug in FTB Stoneblock 3 by:

  • creating a network with a few drive blocks
  • filling up all but one of them
  • then importing a bunch of random items from a mob farm.

It seems to require items to be flowed in gradually, and it seems to prefer large numbers of different types of items. In the level emitter, I set it to an item which the system has a lot of. I also set the threshold number to a high value.

In my singleplayer world where I first encountered the bug, the item was Certus Quartz Crystals and the value was 131,072 (2^17).

Expected behavior

The drives + level emitter should not take so much tick time.

Additional details

Modpack: FTB StoneBlock 3 1.5.0
OS: Linux 6.1
Ryzen 7 5700X / 32 GB RAM
Java: openjdk 17.0.1 2021-10-19 (Termurin)
Minecraft 1.18.2
Forge 40.1.92
AE2 11.7.0
AE2 Things 1.0.4

I was unable to reproduce the bug using regular AE2 drives.

The EMC links were for testing and don't seem to affect anything.

Cannot Upgrade DISKs in the cell workbench

Using the version: AE2-Things-1.0.5.jar on 1.18.2
Putting the DISK into a cell drive will display that it cannot be upgrade by any upgrades provided by AE2, which includes Fuzzy upgrades and any of the similar.
