Music sometimes doesn't start when entering gameplay

Sometimes, if you input too fast by quitting the map and starting it again (I feel like), the music doesn't play at all.

I did reproduce the bug few times on any diff of the map: Creo - Exoplanet (Cut Ver.) by Ucitysm
and with a custom map of my own by quitting another map and quickly starting my map

Passing a song and appearing as first place in the leaderboard for global.

Is this a new issue?

Description of the bug

When you click no fail for a map and pass it even though you have failed the map it will still show up that you have completed the map and have become the first place person on a global leaderboard.

Expected behavior

You shouldn't have appeared on a global leaderboard nor appear on any other leaderboard except a local one.

Steps to reproduce

Turn on the No fail mod and then select a map, fail the map and then look at the leaderboard and see you have placed first place on a global leaderboard.

map content json file is poorly optimized

Basically the issue is that there are a lot of unnecessary repeating parts in the json file (such as "IsLongNote"), which heavily inflates the file size of all maps

Personally, I have over 50k maps in Quaver/osu, so I could definitely see this being an issue for some players

I guess it would be best to just rethink the whole concept of how maps are stored, because the way it currently is, filesize is nearly tripled compared to other games (example Quaver)

Put pictures in readme

just a recommendation, putting pictures/gifs/videos of the game in the readme file helps a lot of people understand what the game actually does and looks like. I had to go to the website to see what the game was about.

(Feature Request) Free Lane Movement

Kinda large request lol

So with this idea, each lane would belong to a group, and each group would have an X and Y position
you could seperate groups by click in between two lanes (like 1234 to 12 34 to 1 2 34) down untill you have single lanes. Each lane will not be allowed to cross another one (so like 2 1 3 4 is illegal but 1 2 3 4 is legal) this would allow for (creative expression) and modchart like things, which would be fun. All group would be displayed in a timeline in a seperate tab, kinda like a story board, with points showing where movents start, with a line coming out showing where they end (there would be tweening and easing and stuff like that)

(Feature Request) Timing Groups

Hm...

With this change, each note would belong to a timing group, sharing the BPM, time sig, notespeed. By default all notes would be in the same timing group (bassically no change), however you could add more timing groups to allow notes to move at different speeds to eachother.

Add touch actions to the editor

The editor is currently a pain to use on touch devices.

We could add touch gestures like:

  • Touch outside the playfield to Pause/Play
  • Drag with one finger outside the playfield to seek time
  • Drag with two fingers to change snapping
  • Pinch and Spread to change zoom

Doesn't fix all issues but is definitely a step forward.

im thinking of making a modified version of this game but like there's no license so how am i supposed to know the license

Really slow beatmap cover/background image loading in Online Map Browser

Not sure where to report this since there is no public repository for the API/Server

The loading of covers and backgrounds is really slow and inefficient due to their size (up to 3840x2160 in some instances). It both takes long and takes unnecessary space in memory. I really recommend storing way lower resolution version for preview purposes in the online map browser. osu! for examples stores preview covers in resolution of 300x300, you can't really see the difference in resolution since the preview cover is pretty small in the actual game anyways

Lane switch event decimal separator

Make lane switch events save like flash events.

Because due to locale differences time stamps save with a comma, which results in an error and softlocks the game.

objects not coming into view at the right spot on low scroll speeds

Flashes do not play after rewinding

When you want to see a section of the map several times and you have already seen the flashes (for the first time) then they do not appear again. (EPILEPSY WARNING)

audio changes in speed when rapidly exiting

idk whether i worded that properly. the audio slows down when changing a song immediately after exiting any map, it also seems like the faster you do this the more slowed audio gets

"Keep Holding"

I was playing some map and the game said "Keep Holding". I'm an experienced osu!mania player and I can hold long notes for long enough, so this was weird to me. It was not just the long notes, it also appeared to be the normal notes and I missed for no reason.

Dragging along the music progress bar generates lag

In the Editor, if you drag the progress bar instead of clicking it to jump through the music, it causes a big lag depending on how far away you are dragging it for.

  • Only happens if the music is currently playing.
  • Music still plays during the lag.
  • New beatmap

Drag bug

Hold notes are allowed to be placed outside of charting area, causing game crash

Title.
Steps:
Start a hold note inside the charting area, then drag your mouse outside.
When you test, the game will crash.

I kind of think this 'feature' is cool, the crash should just be removed. Imagine if during a song's beatdrop notes come at you outside of the area, that would be fun (but probably not rankable).

Updater shouldn't force-close the game without user consent

Description of the bug

After downloading an update, after a brief notification, the program closes without any regard whether if a player is on gameplay or not.

Expected behavior

The game should have a persistent notification notifying users that an update is available, and shouldn't quit the program right away.

Steps to reproduce

Have an available update, and then go into gameplay. It's that simple, really.

BPM Lines are too thin (Charting)

BPM lines (or snap lines) are too thin, at least least on my 720p display.

As you can see, scrolling makes different lines pop in an out of view. Unpausing fixes it, as when the song is playing, all lines are visible.

The provided body is missing the 'hash' property.
