latex-tifinagh's Issues

Recognition problem of tifinagh package

I followed the integration steps of this package and the font in my latex editor to be able to write Tifinagh in my report, but the compilation fails and does not recognize the package or the font.
your help is desirable to be able to solve this problem.

LaTeX/PDF readme

Pretty standard to have a README made in TeX, especially if eventually submitting to CTAN/etc.

File names, case sensitivity, invisible characters

There are a few problems with some the files in the package that prevent a smooth installation procedure.

  • fontenc searches for the file etifenc.def in lower case. The package however provides ETIFenc.def. Under Linux this causes an error because file names are case-sensitive and therefore the file cannot be found. Renaming the file to etifenc.def solves the issue.
  • The file ETIFIrcamUnicode.fd contains a Byte Order Mark (BOM) at the start (EF BB BF) which causes a LaTeX error when the file is loaded. Removing the three bytes at the start of the file solves the issue.
  • The font currently provided by IRCAM (http://www.ircam.ma/?q=fr/node/26901) is called Tifinaghe-Ircam Unicode.ttf. The package expects the file to be called T_I_UNICODE.ttf. Renaming the font file solves the issue. This solution could maybe be mentioned in the installation instructions.

Character name macros only accessible within encoding

I think the character name macros (e.g. \yat, \yabfricative) should be accessible outside of ETIF encoding segments. The names are unlikely to cause conflict, and several other symbol packages work this way. I believe it is simple to set the defaults, but it's just a matter of doing it.

Character table

The encoding table for Latin<->Tifinagh would be much easier to understand visually, both for the Github repo and #2.

Example

I installed this package and I don't know how to run an example, do you have an example to test if it works please ?
