distributedwebofcare's Issues

Dat download broken?

Perhaps there just aren't enough peers, but I'm noticing the following:

  1. dat clone dat://distributedweb.care hangs after grabbing the index page and a few other files, not able to find peers.
  2. Running dat status in that clone tells me that the key is dat://4e0ec640e4628759be33b66b4fd354a799228baf27591dbbaa899357e09d26ef, which is also what's in .well-known.
  3. I can clone the Git repository and then run dat sync from it.
  4. That dat has a different key, dat://82155190781f16d15c23614a4fba4b26637cc4c6ed6f7b07d85eca98d8920aab

I could very well be misunderstanding the way Dat works, but is it possible that the key registered on the web has gotten changed somehow?

EAW images broken

Some images on this page links are broken. The images can't be found on the directory. They may have been moved / deleted during the latest updates and restructuring. The original files will be available in the previous commits.

revise archiving/documentation scheme

  • maintain non-hierarchical structure of posts
  • display author in list?
  • sample tag scheme for medium: [art, drawing, performance, text, criticism, tutorial]
    • where ART: drawing or performance and
    • TEXT: critique or tutorial
    • ADMIN STUFF can remain untagged

For example, using this scheme, all guest essays and the EAW transcript could use tags: [text, criticism]; Cabal can use tags: [text, tutorial]; the performance documentation (yet to be updated) can use tags: [art, performance]. Or maybe categories instead of tags, whichever one works best.

We also (probably) want these sub-elements to have a consistent front matter taxonomy with other projects and individual artworks, so information such as top project (soft care) and date of production should also be in there.

Within the entire archive, DWC as a project can fall into a curation/organizing/event/4d thing.

If we choose so, we can maintain individual paintings, performances, workshops, etc as separate artworks that are duplicate or linked/aliased in DWC as a meta-artwork. For example, a directory structure like the following:

2018/dwc_drawing_1
2018/dwc_drawing_2
2018/dwc_performance
2018/DWC
2018/DWC/art
2018/DWC/art/dwc_drawing_1 (alias or duplicate)
2018/DWC/art/dwc_drawing_2 (alias or duplicate)
2018/DWC/art/dwc_performance (alias or duplicate)
2018/DWC/text/collaborators_essays
2018/DWC/text/taeyoons_essays

One thing to think about is that this is a Jekyll site nested inside a jekyll site and I'm not sure how that plays out when the static site is generated.

Broke the site

I was experimenting with some local ruby and accidentally pushed to origin. and it's a disaster. LOL. it started with this commit and 8 attempts to revert the site have not been success. Happy to get any help!
