Preferably the Carousel (introduced in #51) should be able to be called with a component style instead of having to print all the HTML for it.
Working on the following improvements:
Let me know if anything else can be improved and we can add that too.
I feel like the Index page could use a little touch up outside of the default theme layout, not really sure what though but it can be customized pretty heavily by editing the main theme.
Could be designed in a way that also allows for the download buttons to take place in a good manner (#43).
The README didn't say that non-contributors couldn't open issues, but if that is the case, please point me to the proper directory.
Anyways, the big "Help Center" header at the top of the help center is unnecessary (as the page does not have multiple sections) and visually off-putting (given that it is right-justified while everything else is centered).
This problem occurs when we add manga of the same name from different websites. This creates the same manga to be added to tachiyomi. Hence we have to search various tabs to search which manga from which sites has gotten updated.
Try to solve this problem. I am thinking to add a folder system inside the tab, so to add all manga of the same name into the same folder.
And solves the problem of searching in all the tabs.
Videos in the Guides pages are out of date
The website's mangadex video guide is outdated
I think it would make more sense if the Download button on the home page redirected to the downloads page, instead of splitting up downloads into two locations. I'd make a PR myself if I knew how to do this lol.
I introduced a very simple MDI-Glasses component in #70, it's a legacy icon from Material Design (current is Material Icons), I basically colored an SVG instead.
If possible it would be good to be able to refer to old MD icons like the MI ones added by @ghostbear in #64.
How can i see in the app manga that i downloaded but i dont want to add the manga to my library?
Include dead sources under Extensions page
https://tachiyomi.org/help/
should have some simple pointers to different parts of the help section (e.g. guides, FAQ, etc.).
This will act as the entry point from various places, including the "Help" entry in the app's side nav.
Examples:
Add searching for Manga in #faq on discord to "Adding Manga"
At the moment, there's no description in the site that shows the disntinction between Stable and Preview. Many users download Preview and expect it to run smoothly as their daily driver.
Preview description should state something like it's a beta testing version of Stable which has more new features but also potential bugs (also mention to turn on Auto backup if something in Preview breaks the app) etc.
Have common errors linked to troubleshooting problems page
The website should have tips sections so that people can learn to use useful Tachiyomi features, like creating Categories, migrate sources and filters in My Library etc. I don't have preference for the image format, both still and GIF is fine by me.
I can't search for mangas to download in mangadex instead i have ts search in webview
Would it make any more sense to utilize a folder structure tree on the Reading local manga guide page? This may look better and be more self explanatory:
/Tachiyomi
/local
/My Manga 1
/Ch 1
images
/Ch 2
images
/My Manga 2...
Or something of that nature.
Idea from Plex Help
Add keywords for important settings/features/FAQ which will refer to a relevant section, such as 'Auto Backup' which will take the user to Auto Backup section.
The website should ideally act as the single source of truth for FAQ and other similar information.
Language used is not clear
Bad grammar
I have the long tap dialog disabled, but if I were to manually skip to the next chapter, for some reason the long tap dialog would work again even though it is disabled.
I hope I'm not being a bother by opening these issues. If I am, feel free to let me know.
At the moment, there is inconsistent messaging about links outside the site. The Github link in the corner has an icon indicating it leads outside the site, but the Reddit, Discord, and Github squares in the help center do not.
Current look:
It would be more informative to add those icons.
Proposed change:
While I'm on the subject, was there a reason why the Links dropdown was removed from the top, and just the Github link was left?
e.g. cover.jpg
or whatever else works.
Every other page in the Help Center (FAQ, Guide, etc.) is under the /help/ parent in the URL, so for example /help/faq/ or /help/guides/. But Forks is separate, just tachiyomi.org/forks. I assume this is an error. How would one fix this; just go through the files and change every reference of /forks/ to /help/forks?
It's outdated and basically useless, the app should have descriptions for each settings than the website.
Could maybe keep the Reader Settings, it has some useful visual info to demo features.
Currently, as shown on Discord screenshot, the FAQ section on sidebar is very hard to reach, especially Extensions FAQ. One has to scroll past all Application FAQ entries to reach that, which is not user friendly. Thus I'm requesting the FAQ sections to be more accessible. Possibly linked on Home page like Manga Rock, but ultimately whichever works best.
I have one request regarding extensions. Can you able add the extension mangatx website?
Website link: https://mangatx.com/
I have manga, where each chapter has one page (not exactly, but the app sees it as separate chapters). So I tried to set this option off, but it almost always show chapter transition (from the option name I guess it's the right behavior). It would be good to have description on the reader setting page with explanation when it show the transition and when it doesn't. And maybe some way to reduce number of situations when it does.
Explain services?
How about adding a Language Selector so that every users around the world can choose their familiar language? The translation can be based on Weblate.
Some mangas are not loading
Suggested by @as280093#5472 on Discord.
Example: https://nabstudio.zendesk.com/hc/en-us
Could be as simple as splitting by app and extensions.
Could also consider putting both FAQ stuff and guide stuff under "/help".
It might be nice to add a reference to the spreadsheet on the extension list. https://tachiyomi.org/extensions/
Currently, both Home page and Help has the header centered, thus Forks page should also be centered for consistency.
We can keep hosting it via GitHub Pages, but a proper domain would be nice. Can also rename the repo to something like website
or pages
afterwards.
I'd like someone to make a parser in a way that allows us to have a button that downloads the latest .apk
from GitHub. Using the /release
URL isn't possible as it only allows direct-download if you specify the filename, but since we use the version in the APK filename that is a no-go.
The wanted tags is tag_name
and browser_download_url
from https://api.github.com/repos/inorichi/tachiyomi/releases/latest.
If you can, make a makeshift button for the front-page like the Get Started button that downloads APK directly.
Basically just the title. The menu seems to work just fine on every other page, though.
The chapters on tapas are showing up as locked and are unreadable, it shows a message saying to login and refresh but even after doing that the chapters remain locked. I asked about this on the Discord channel but I decided to address the issue here so it could be fixed sooner. This is my first time using github to report an issue so I'm sorry if I'm doing this wrong ๐ฌ Please look into this issue, thank you :)
There are some mangas that dont even load chapters at all. And some that dont load after new chapter releases
