When I was learning these, I tried to find very clear and simple resources that walked you through step-by-step, and they aren't as common as you would think. Simple SQL injection filter that attempts to detect malicious SQL strings from a pre-defined dataset. Note this tool does not carry out sanitisation of input, where input is transformed into something that conforms to a specification. Check out the README for more.
