The problem isn't killing AHK on exit, but rather making sure the mouse cursor is visible when you do.
The solution might be to just kill the cursor hiding functionality from ampm and use an outside tool instead. This seems to work pretty well: http://www.softwareok.com/?seite=Microsoft/AutoHideMouseCursor
