sc-sounds's Introduction

This file will explain how to get your soundpack up and running.

Notes: if you just downloaded the scripts patch, unless otherwise specified on the release page, skips steps 3 6 and 7. If you just downloaded the sounds patch, skip steps 4 5 6 and 7. If you downloaded the full release file for some reason, follow all steps, unless you already have a "settings.set" file", if you have a "settings.set" file, skip step 6 unless otherwise specified on the release page. pre-installation, only applicable to new installations, skip this section if upgrading. before we continue to the installation, when creating the mud, the mud name should be called "Star Conquest" without the quotes. Capatalization is important! Please connect to it once before continuing to ensure the necessary folder is created. Once that's done, move on to actual installation below.

actual Installation.

  1. Once you've downloaded the pack from the release page, run the self-extracting executable, giving it a directory where to store it's files. Just remember where it's located and be careful not to get folders mixed up if you are replacing a previous version of the pack. Wherever you extracted this self-extracting archive to, you will find a folder that will contain either one of the following folder names. full release: sc-release-full scripts patch only: sc-release-scripts sounds patch only: sc-release-sounds
  2. Locate your VIPMud folder on your computer. This would be the folder that has your various mud files in it, not the soundpack folder. It might look something like C:\Program Files (x86)\VipMud or C:\Program Files\VipMud If you're using the latest version of VIP mud which is 2.0, it may be installed in your Documents folder.
  3. From within that folder, locate your sounds folder and open it. Then go to the soundpack that you have just downloaded and open its sound folder. Copy the star conquest folder and then paste it into your sounds folder.
  4. Back out of the sounds folder and go to the star conquest folder. You copy and paste your scripts folder here.
  5. Copy "Star conquest.set" here as well.
  6. Copy "settings.set" here as well.
  7. back out of the star conquest folder, and Copy "StarConquestBufferlist.txt" into the route of your VIP Mud folder.

Soundpack Installation

Sent by Estefani ([email protected]). Created by fire.

I couldn’t do instruction 4 on the soundpack installation. I don’t know why, but my vipmud 2.0 didn’t create a star conquest folder when I created my char. So do I just create one? Thanks.

so the spk is being problematic specially when gunning because the gags don't seem to work properly. It still reports when the ship gets hit even with the ship gagging on. That should not happen at all because it is very spammy. also when the ship is tracked, I hope it doesn't say the TTA thing. should just say the directions of the tracked target without saying TTA contact. gmg is also having problem when you are the repair suit because it doesn't make a sound for when you enter the room that has the containers in it. I hope this can be fixed soon. So far that's all the issue I have found. Thank you for taking the time fixing the spk. PS, I am using VIPMUD 2.
