Turing Machine 0.6.0 not working with audio range clock ?

Fedora 23 Linux
Rack master (0.6.x dev)

Greetings ! I'm testing the latest 0.6.0 release by running Hagen Ueberfuhr's demonstration at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InbikxInuKE. Unfortunately the latter part of the demo no longer functions, I'm getting no audio output at all from the 2nd instance of the Machine. I also tried using only that part of his patch on its own, got the same result. Am I missing something or has something crucial changed in the module ?

Turing Machine starts at step 2 once Clock turned on

If for example Impromptu's Clocked has Run output wired to Turing machine's reset in and run is activated on Clocked then Turing Machine skips step one and start at step 2, so ends up 1 step fast of where it should start.

That makes it hard to sync to anything especially if polyrhythmic but has a steady structure and it needs to line up step 1 with the kick drum. Given TM starts on Step 2 the drum appears one step slow, but it's TM that is one step fast, can this please be fixed so it starts on Step 1 and not skip the first step? One has to reset it to actually start on Step 1, but that causes glitches not desirable.

Link module doesn't appear in library

Hi. On my Linux machine I am using Rack v0.6.1 with latest StellareModular version installed via Plugin Manager and I can not find 'Link' module in StellareModular directory:

I also tried previous plugin versions (0.6.0, 0.5.2), but with no luck.

I am wondering whether there are some unspecified limitations for this module or maybe some known issues like that one?

Fix versioning to be accepted into the Rack community repository

Rack v0.5.1 will include a plugin manager, and plugins need to follow the versioning guidelines in order to be accepted. You can use this example plugin Makefile and Tutorial.cpp file as a reference for making sure the version is the same in the C++, Makefile, and JSON manifest.

  • Your plugin has no version defined in a C++ file. You must set plugin->version using the Tutorial.cpp file as a reference.

Once you've fixed this, send a PR to the Rack community repository, fixing the version is applicable and removing the "disabled" property in the JSON manifest file if present.

Turing Machine combined left-side outputs

Hi, in the hardware Turing Machine , the combined outputs on the left side,
i.e. 1+2, 2+4, 4+7 and 1+2+4+7,
are used to output an AND-gate combination of the 1 to 7 signals. However, in the software version, it instead seems to be an OR-gate behavior. Is this difference intended, as I believe the Rack port is intended to be a faithful clone of the hardware version. I really like this module by the way, when I'm running on low in terms of creativity for a melody, it's a wonderful tool! Cheers!

Where's the source?

Hey, where's the source code? (If this is a closed-source project, why is it on GitHub? :S)

Link - ANY documentation on how to use?

This is not necessarily an issue, More of a question: is there ANY documentation on the use of the Link module in VCVRack? I can't find anything here in this Github repository.. No Youtube video .. well.. there is ONE regarding its use with BitWig.. but its kind of useless, because No one is talking and we're supposed to figure it out by just looking at his VCV patch! Just a small paragraph? Please? I cannot figure out how the heck to use the dumb thing! HOW is it connected to Ableton Link? There is no input... How does it sync? How are clients suppose to link to it? Why are there just two outputs that are just clock dividers? no 1 to 1 ration?

how to load to mac

how do i load this module into my rack? i'm on a mac, and am having trouble adding this in

No link-wrapper.dll available in extracted folder

The project documentation suggests that windows users require to add a modifier 'link-wrapper.dll' to the VCVrack folder. However, no such DLL exists in the extracted folder. Please make the location of this DLL clear and accessible for users.

Source code zips contain no source code

I'm trying to get rack going on slackware linux and have to build everything from source.

I downloaded the source tarball but there is no source code in it.

Black version

Hey folks, I have started a repository for skinning VCV Rack modules. I created the svg set for your turing machine in the black and gold variant. Would like permission to publish it, or, if you would like it for yourself you are welcome to the files for incorporation into the mod. Let me know!

Turing Machine range switch odd values

Any change of the full range of values from 2-16? My hardware version has these on a rotary switch, and I mostly use the odd lengths. So 7,9,11,13,15 would be ideal. I was going to try recompiling it myself, but I see the source isn't here. Anyway, please keep this in mind for the next version, if you plan on updating it. Thanks!
