In order to have an header in the left menu you have to add to the SASlideMenuRootViewController a view outside the view linked to the menuView outlet. The menuView outlet will contain the SASlideMenuViewController and you can place where you like.
I hope it helps

Maybe use a table section header?

Hi,
this lib is awesome!
I use it in 2 apps now and am struggling to get a fixed header in the leftMenu. This header should not move when I scroll the leftMenu.
What is the best approach for this?Intuitively I would embed the TableView inside a different UIViewController and add spacing at the top of the tableView and position the header there but I cannot do this (?) because SASlideMenuViewController expects to be a UITableViewController.
Maybe Im missing something. Anyone?
Thanks in advance.

I needed to have the header fixed at the top when scrolling. Section headers either float or not. As long as all table rows fit on the screen without scrolling your suggestion works just fine. But when scrolling is involved the 1st section header leaves the screen and then the "illusion is gone".
I managed to get the desired effect of a fixed header at the top by applying stefanoa's hint.
