Client notification position resets after Steam/PC restarts or resuming from sleep

millenium

As the title says, the client notification position resets. I have checked the registry it still retains it settings as 0 (top left) but the Millennium UI and the Steam notification is back to the default location bottom right. Hopefully this is can be fixed because this is the only way to change Steam notification location afaik. Thank you

[Feature] Disable Auto-Update

Before Requesting

  • I found no existing issue matching my feature request

Describe the feature you'd like!

Hello. I disabled steam updates but the new update broke my steam version, because Millennium Auto-Updated.
Having a toggle to disable this would be great.

Anything else?

No response

[Bug] Millenium Beta is completely broken right now.

Before Reporting

  • I found no existing issues matching my bug
  • My issue is not caused by the Millennium interface inside Steam (Themes, Plugins & Update Panel). If it is, make a issue report in this repo.
  • My issue is not caused by a theme

Describe the Bug

I first noticed when starting up my PC that Steam would say "installing update" and then immediately stop. All of Steam's processes would disappear from Task Manager. If I started Steam again, it would just do the same thing, install an update and close. I uninstalled Millennium and it fixed it, but when I tried reinstalling Millennium, this happened instead.
image

If I try to start Steam anyways, nothing happens, it shows up in the process list but I can't see anything. Minutes later, a popup appears saying that steamwebhelper is not responding and Steam asks me how to fix it (exit Steam, restart Steam, restart steamwebhelper, etc.).

Expected Behavior

I expected it to not cause Steam to mess up. Not sure if Steam had a big update today or something as this worked fine yesterday.

Steps To Reproduce

Not really sure what kind of steps. I just noticed Steam wasn't working, so I uninstalled and then installed the beta via the Powershell script.

[Bug] Steam reload uninstalls Millennium without quitting Steam.

Before Reporting

  • I found no existing issues matching my bug
  • My issue is not caused by a theme

Describe the Bug

This may actually be related to #49 but I don't know for sure. Whenever my computer wakes from sleep mode, Millenium still works.

My issues arise whenever Steam reloads. For some reason Steam likes to reload itself. Not quit and restart, just reload all the windows. Usually this is caused from me doing something like, say, exiting out of SteamVR. Or sometimes it just does it on its own, like if my computer has high usage temporarily or something, it'll close out all the Steam windows, and when I reopen it, Millennium is gone.

I'm not really sure what's happening internally, but I find it weird how Steam seems to automatically uninstall Millenium without Steam ever actually quitting or restarting. Just reloading the windows for some reason seems to be enough. Unless it's not fully uninstalling it and it just strangely removes some of Millenium's important stuff. My current theme resets back to standard, and the "Open Millennium" button is no longer in the settings so I can't reapply it. I have to keep reinstalling Millennium at times and it can get tedious.

Expected Behavior

I expected it to not remove itself somehow.

Steps To Reproduce

Not really sure how specifically to reproduce it. Steam just occasionally prompts a reload (it'll even say in the main Steam window "Reloading Steam", followed by the windows closing themselves out, and when I reopen the Steam windows, Millennium's gone). The only semi-consistent way I can think of causing the reload is when I close out of SteamVR sometimes.

[Bug] Theme reverts to the default one after some time

Before Reporting

  • I found no existing issues matching my bug
  • My issue is not caused by a theme

Describe the Bug

After using Steam for an hour or so theming starts to slowly return to default one. First the small window that shows up when starting a game, then parts of the overlay when the game is running, then the store page and at the end the whole library and the top bar. It happens in the online mode, but is more frequent in the offline mode or when PC doesn't have any connection to the internet.

Expected Behavior

Theme should not change overtime.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Turn on Steam and apply any theme.
  2. Restart Steam (preferably in the offline mode or turn off any connection to the internet in the network card settings).
  3. Wait for an hour or two.
  4. Try turning on the game.

Operating System

I installed it how it is stated and tried setting cpr_DIR variable but nothing seemed to work.

[Wiki Update] Update linux build instructions

Before Requesting

  • This request is related to Millennium, and not a request for a specific theme/addon

Describe the feature you'd like!

I have made some changes to the wiki

https://github.com/oxydien/Millennium-wiki

Changes Made:

  • Updated Linux build instructions
  • Added a reference from Getting Started installation to Platform Support linux...
You can read the last commit in my repo

Reasoning:

  • The previous build instruction were as said incomplete and mostly for windows... After my change it's easier for people that don't know anything about cmake (like me)

Thank you for considering my proposal.

Millennium settings are not visible/available when a language other than English is selected

The title more or less says what the problem is.
For example, if the interface language is set to German in Steam, then Millennium's settings are not available.

If you now set the language to English, they reappear.

Example English:
Millennium-Settings-English

Example German:
Millennium-Settings-German

It is perfectly fine if Millennium is not translated, however the settings should at least be visible in the other languages.
You can also notice this by the fact that the settings skin is not loaded when the language is set to German.
(The design is not dark)

Edit:
As far as I read, it got fixed in the following pull request:
#2
It looks like this has not been publicly released yet.

[Bug] Millennium Installer fails to fetch over Ethernet but works over WiFi?

Before Reporting

  • I found no existing issues matching my bug
  • My issue is not caused by a theme

Describe the Bug

Millennium Installer fails to fetch resources over Ethernet but works over WiFi [on the same Network]. I've tested two seperate interfaces - an ASIX AX88179-based Adapter and a Realtek Adapter (the one on the Dell WD19TB Docking Station).

Note: There is a chance that this problem isn't caused by Millennium [Installer] (given its weird nature), however I haven't seen similar behaviour in any other software.

Expected Behavior

Millenium Installer fetches the required resources correctly on either connection.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Download Millennium.Installer-Windows.exe from https://github.com/SteamClientHomebrew/Installer/releases.

  3. Click "Install".

  4. Steam is closed if running, and the error (attached below) appears after a short wait.
