Factory System Modeling

Systems, processes and other components of a factory or production can be described and illustrated by the Factory System Modeling (FSM). This is necessary because the factory is a complex system with a variety of different and linked elements and it is planned and used by various persons and departments.

With the help of FSM, the factory and its components can be modelled

• in a simplified, interdisciplinary and transparent form,
• in early planning phases and
• without the need of quantitative data.

Therefore, FSM offers two-dimensional graphics with unified symbols which can be used with pencil and paper without the need of further tools. Thus, interdisciplinary planning teams are enabled to develop visualized solutions.

The underlying method FSMER aims at the holistic, methodical and model-based description, explanation and design of factory systems focusing on the objectives energy efficiency and resource efficiency. Building on that, FSMI is used to model the information systems as further perspective on the factory.

Fabriksystemmodellierung

Mit Hilfe der Fabriksystemmodellierung (FSM) können Systeme, Prozesse und weitere Bestandteile der Fabrik bzw. einer Produktion grafisch abgebildet und modellhaft beschrieben werden. Dies ist notwendig, weil die Fabrik ein komplexes Gebilde mit einer Vielzahl an vernetzten Elementen darstellt und weil die Fabrik von verschiedensten Akteuren und Abteilungen geplant und betrieben wird.

FSM erlaubt es, Fabriksysteme und deren Bestandteile

• in vereinfachter, disziplinübergreifender, transparenter Form,
• in frühen Planungsphasen und
• ohne Notwendigkeit von quantitativen Daten zu modellieren.

Hierfür bietet FSM zweidimensionale Darstellungen mit einheitlichen Symbolen, die ohne weitere Hilfsmittel direkt vor Ort mit Stift und Papier erstellt werden können, so dass im interdisziplinären Team gemeinsam an den visualisierten Lösungen gearbeitet werden kann.

Die zugrundeliegende Methodik FSMER fokussiert die ganzheitliche, methodische und modellgestützte Beschreibung, Erklärung und Gestaltung von Fabriksystemen hinsichtlich der Zielgrößen Energieeffizienz und Ressourceneffizienz. Darauf aufbauend wird FSMI genutzt, mit der die Informationssysteme als weitere Sichtweise für das Fabriksystem abgebildet werden.
