Not entirely shure where the problem comes from, but the charger occationally turns on. I have Zigbee2MQTT running in HomeAssistant. The charger is controlled by a EV Smart Charging integration, so the charger should most of the time be turned off, but occationally it is simply on, without reporting from where it has been switched on. The Log in HomeAssistant simply reports it being "Turned On", without the cause, no switch, or automation.

Anyone else have similar problems?

Works well on changing limit for charging current, but after a while it returns to 32A. No log of what is happening.

I am planning on buying an Amina S, but integration with Z2M is essential to me. I do not only want to be able to turn the charger on and off, I also want to be able to have it report how much electricity the charger consumes. Ideally, I'd like to see both the current consumtion (in ampere or watt), and the total consumption over time (in kWh).

Can I do that with this Zigbee integration? This sentence in the README confuses me:

As of now, the exposes total_active_energy and last_session_energy is not updated automatically as the attributes are not reportable.

Does this mean that it is not possible to see how much energy the car consumes? Or does it mean that I need to program Home Assistant to poll the data?

Hi! Just had my charger installed and I'm trying to get this to work. Had to do the fix in #1, but after that I got a different error:

Zigbee2MQTT:error 2024-04-17 15:08:04: Failed to load external converter file 'amina_s.js' (e is not defined)

I then re-uploaded the file and did the fix again to make sure I'd not accidentally messed something up, and now it still won't work but there is nothing in the logs either.

Any ideas as to what's wrong, or what I can do to figure it out?

Can it be fixed?

After updating the firmware the device is not acting 100% any more in z2m.

I would really like to use my amina s charger with ZHA but unfortunately support is not wery helpful (they make hardware).

I am almost willing to move from ZHA to Zigbee2Mqtt in order to make this work, but before I do I need to know if there is any way at all to make this work as it? Perhaps not with this solution but then with some other solution out there.

I've been experimenting with some charging automatons after the new version sorted my previous issues. No car connected.

I'm running into an issue where setting the charge current is very unreliable, it works maybe one time in ten. sometimes twice in quick succession, sometimes not for a long time regardless of how much I try. This is regardless if I set it in an automation, in the device in HA or directly from z2m. Nothing in the z2m logs either... Turning the charger on and off works fine so it does not seem to be a connection issue.

I checked the zigbee document from amina in case there was some limitations to how much it could be switched or something like that, but found nothing helpful. Also rebooted everything a few times, no change.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

Hi, the current commit supports swBuildId 1.5.3, my current fw is 1.4.10. Do you have any experience updating, and if so how?

I have just succeed to get Z2M up and running (HA addon)
The sole purpose of switching to Z2M was to be able to use the Amina S that is unsupported in ZHA, and I found this External Converter that gave me some hope.

But when I try to add the External Converter in Z2M i get an error message "external converters must be array" that I don't understand, and I didn't find anything useful when googling.

I uploaded the files amina_s.js and amina_s.png into my zigbee2mqtt folder, using the File Editor addon.
Next, in Z2M under external converters, I click the +button, write amina_s.js and click Submit, then the error message passes by.

I installed this extension in HAOS but no entities are created except the default one for the amina s device itself. Is there anything I'm missing here? I added the file amino_s.js.

Looks more than good enough to me. Having it upstream will increase the test coverage and prevent anyone from doing unnecessary double work.

Cannot get this to work with zigbee2mqtt version 1.36.1. Nothing in the log, no errors as far as I can see.
Downgraded to 1.36.0, and it works as before.
