This app is part of the Udacity Android Basics Nanodegree Program.

Project Overview

The NewsApp gives the user regularly-updated news from the internet related to a particular topic, person, or location. In this project, use Guardian API.

What will I learn?

This project is about combining various ideas and skills we’ve been practicing throughout the course. They include:
  1. Connecting to an API
  2. Parsing the JSON response
  3. Handling error cases gracefully
  4. Updating information regularly
  5. Using an AsyncTask
  6. Doing network operations independent of the Activity lifecycle
  7. Use Uri.Builder class to add query parameters to the URL

Requirements

This project will require use of the Guardian API, which is well-maintained and returns information in a JSON format.
