The HTTP/S handler can download individual files, but isn't smart enough to extract download archives. A separate variant should be created for archive downloads, or options should be added to the HTTP/S handler to signal it to extract downloaded archives.

The local handler should support a symbolic link syntax. Perhaps one of:

/dest/path* /source/path
/dest/path /source/path;method=link

I like the simplicity of the first, but the second lends itself to other variations like method=rsync.

Test coverage for codetree is incomplete and should be top priority (and required for all future contributions)

Git is much more widely used than Bzr for modern vcs repositories. Codetree should include a handler for git sources.

Handlers should, where possible, support cryptographic verification of the material they download. In particular, http/s downloads should accept a md5/sha(N) option to verify contents against a known hash.
