Features needed :

• OS detection : provides correct download link for the user's platform, fallback to all the downloads + source code if not detectable
• Modern & simple UI that make the user wanting to download
• Maybe an SVG/Canvas animation for JS enabled users, to increase engagement
• Downloads counter
• Fetch releases from GitHub

OK so I see the following :

1. User go to downloads
2. Page propose a list of available downloads for the detected OS (or all as fallback)
3. User download the client it prefers
4. Page displays a nice animation to say thanks for download and add an entry to the downloads counter for that client/os.

Ideally we should make every commit to pass through a CI service to ensure code is always fine.

So here are the main options I see:

• TravisCI : The most popular CI.
• [email protected] : The Tox CI server, but IIRC oranges wanted to shut it down for servers costs.
• CircleCI : Another cool CI service.

Features we need for this to be usable :

• Fully featured markdown editor for the back end.
• Tags system, categories are an outdated stuff.
• Clean & easy to use interface.
• Way for the user to subscribe to blog posts.
• Comments system.
• Way for the user to login via social (Github, Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc) or as guest. Guest comments are reviewed before being shown publicly.
• Admin stuff to manage the comments.

It should appears as a drawer instead of top to bottom menu

Would it be possible to use the same font already used on tox.chat ? It looks much better; more professional.

The fonts now look a lot better thanks to #1 , but the colours are still not quite there. The sickly green colour is very displeasing for the eye. Possibly inspire yourself from https://designschool.canva.com/blog/website-color-schemes/

OK I have requested a BrowserStack account to the team for this repo, let see if they respond positive to my demand :)

The developers hub is meant to be the place where developers can find get started with Tox APIs, libraries, Tox's concepts, language bindings, tips, etc.

It is meant to be used by developers and by so need to be easy to read and follow writing standard.

TODO:

• Page / Tags system.
• automatic Table of Content
• Fully featured markdown support.
• Pages synced with a github repository, with the ability to edit them on the website. A pull request would automagically be made.
• Special markdown sections for tips, warnings, see alsos, etc.
• A way for other people to give a note to a certain page. Pages with less votes are the one we need to improve.

This would be nice to use in a CI system where the client is built. Enabling always up-to-date downloads
