.emacs.d's Introduction

My Personal Emacs Configuration

This is my personal Emacs configuration. This is the second repository I clone โ€” after my dotfiles โ€” when settling in on a new system. This configuration uses Evil-style bindings (i.e. Vim bindings), and requires at least Emacs 24.4.

To install all third-party packages, run make in this repository while connected to the internet:

make

This will clone additional repositories containing the configured packages (see packages.el) into gpkg/, install each package under site-lisp/<emacs-version>/, add each to the load-path, and compile. To install/build packages for another version of Emacs, set the EMACS variable:

make EMACS=emacs26

Package installations for multiple versions of Emacs can safely coexist side-by-side. If you did everything right Emacs should simply launch with no errors. You will be greeted with a featureless, empty gray box awaiting your instructions.

.emacs.d's Issues

unannoy not found

I use you config setup, got error: unannoy not found
Have you forgotten to add the etc directory to the scan list?

keyboard-cat-mode should be on melpa

you are doing the community a great disservice by not publishing keyboard-cat-mode on melpa.

you can make this right.

please think of the kittens.

Update to cider

Please can you update init.el to work with latest nrepl.el now cider. Also there's something in init.el that makes make-frame behave strangely and doesn't maintain the size settings of the frame from which I call it.

open selected YT entry on MPV

Hi,

It is so cool that now I can read feeds on emacs, one less daily burden!
You guys rocks!

I could say that I am Elisp newbie, but It would be precise: a programming newbie! lmaoooooooo

I dare to ask you, good sir, for yet another favor:

MPV/youtube-dl just works so now would be really great open yt entries directly to MPV.

Thanks!

How to turn off evil mode

I'm more than happy using the little arrow keys on the lower right of my laptop keyboard for navigation and together with ctrl keys for jumping between windows. I have never liked vim style editing. I have tried it but it doesn't give me the freedom I need.

Also I need some help with adjusting the font as it looks very small on my hiDpi laptop.

To be honest a lot of things have changed since I last cloned your repo that I am not too comfortable with.

I just mostly like the turning off of tabs and menus

Thanks for putting effort into this project!
