Zombies walk into walls with great perseverance:
I know they are dumb but this makes the game look lame. Zombies should not start attacking you if you are not in their line of site, even when you are in range. For line of site, the same approach could be used as for firing with the gun, to check if there are any walls between the zombie and the player.
Add player walking sound effect
Add zombie death sounds on lethal hits
Find and add dog walking sound effect
Add additional dog sound effects when detecting zombies
Prevent fire animation playing when manually reloading

CHECKPOINT: Dog approaches checkpoint --> sniff animation and sound effect --> sit animation and periodic barking (Dog sound 1/2/3/4/5) --> Only then can checkpoint dialogue be triggered when player approaches within 1 tile of checkpoint. Dog does not progress until player has activated checkpoint dialogue
Holding right click to put the player in the 'ready' position. During this time the player will only be able to rotate in place. Releasing right click will play 'unready' animation and allow free movement

If player keeps clicking after 7 shots without pausing, the 'dry fire' sound effect should play and prevent reloading

You shouldn't be able to reload while already shooting/reloading because right now you can interrupt your shoot with reload, so if you want to shoot faster spam R and click, the animations interrupt each other and you can get fast ๐ฆ
