Manage the desktop wallpaper

Works on macOS, Linux, and Windows.

Install

npm install --global wallpaper-cli

Usage

$ wallpaper --help

  Usage
    $ wallpaper [file|url|color]

  Options
    --scale  Scaling method: auto fill fit stretch center [Default: auto]
             Only available on macOS

  Examples
    $ wallpaper unicorn.jpg
    $ wallpaper https://octodex.github.com/images/dojocat.jpg
    $ wallpaper '#ff69b4'
    $ wallpaper
    /Users/sindresorhus/unicorn.jpg
    $ wallpaper codercat.jpg --scale=fit

[REJECTED] Windows standalone binary

Dear Sindre,
Could you be so kind to generate .exe for the rest of us who use Windows only?
I’m told that either Nexe or EnclosureJS might help you to achieve that.

Support for multiple screens on Windows

is there any way to set the wallpaper through multiple desktops?
I use 3 displays for example, and only got the wallpaper changed in one of them..
might be some additional conf

When I try to install this module and run wallpaper, I get different output

I'm getting output for npm 'wallpaper' even though I ran npm remove -g wallpaper; npm remove -g wallpaper-cli; npm i -g wallpaper-cli; wallpaper --help;

I'd really like this version since it takes an URL.

Wallpaper is reset after restart

I use a command like this to set a wallpaper:

# Download random photo from "Unsplash Editorial" collection at 3440x1440 resolution
wallpaper https://source.unsplash.com/collection/317099/3440x1440

This works great, but whenever the machine is restarted the wallpaper is lost (reverts to initially set macOS wallpaper).

Maybe this is a Monterey or M1 issue? I'm running macOS 12.1 on an M1 MacBook.
