Hmm? I don't understand.
It's your repository not mine, so you can create any branch you like, for instance a fix-cookies branch.
It's pretty common to send PRs from a bugfix or feature branch. But it's not important, you can also send from your master branch, if you like.

In case things get too complicated, let me know, i will then simply cherry pick this commit.

I just saw that you didn't fork SimpleTest. Then you need to add the upstream first:
git remote add upstream https://github.com/simpletest/simpletest.git
