simplegeo-ios's Introduction

SimpleGeo on iOS

This is SimpleGeo's sample iOS application.

This app demonstrates how to integrate SimpleGeo.framework into an iOS project. The app uses the framework to make API requests to SimpleGeo Context, Places, and Storage.

[SimpleGeo-iOS] uses MapKit to show SimpleGeo Places and SimpleGeo Storage Records on a map. The app allows you to view SimpleGeo Context, browse and search SimpleGeo Places, and explore a SimpleGeo Storage layer from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.

Getting Started

  1. Download SimpleGeo.framework and drag it into the Resources/ subdirectory.

  2. Rename Resources/Credentials_template.h to Credentials.h and provide your SimpleGeo OAuth key and secret.

  3. Start coding!

Getting Started via the Terminal

  1. git clone [email protected]:simplegeo/SimpleGeo-iOS.git

  2. cd SimpleGeo-iOS/Resources/

  3. git clone -b framework-ios [email protected]:simplegeo/SimpleGeo.framework.git

  4. cp Credentials_template.h Credentials.h

  5. vi Credentials.h (add your credentials)

simplegeo-ios's Issues

Runtime error / Xcode 4 + iOS 4.3

Hey,

I just migrated to XCode 4 running a base SDK of 4.3. I built my SimpleGeo-Framework based project, which was working great in 4.2 / Xcode 3, and I'm getting crashes whenever I try and execute a bit of SG Framework code. Weird thing is, works fine from the simulator.

To test, I also downloaded this project, and was able to recreate the crashes w/ that project, so it's not a problem with just my code. (BTW, this a runtime, not build error...)

Here's a screencap: http://cl.ly/090T2A2a1M3n04083J2t

I'm assuming this is some kind of environment issue, but any thoughts on what it might be? Also, for future reference, should I post this here, or as ticket on help.simplegeo.com? (I'll cross post there, just in case)

Thanks for any help.

Current version build

Hey, haven't resolved this yet, but in the current "as is" build I'm unable to compile the sample project. Looks like something is messed up w/ the framework linking?
