You should have gotten a warning when installing the plugin and it's also mentioned in the readme:

I'm not using TypeScript in my project.
Doesn't matter, the plugin needs to run organizeImports from the TypeScript language service API which is part of the typescript package, so you'll need it even to sort imports in .js files.
