Hi, great project, love the idea.
I would like to run the jar file with java -jar -Xmx2g SproutLife.jar, but when I do, I receive:  

java -jar -Xmx2g SproutLife.jar
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for 2097152KB object heap.

What can I do to make it run? Thank you in advance.

This project has lots of potential. This project seems semi-dead. No PRs or issues have been created.

Suggestions

• allow customized seeding
• inspect organisms and see their genome
• option to allow seed to delay before sprouting - room is needed
• a superspeed option

How about running each grid update with a compute shader on the gpu?
The graphics part would still be handled by java and the graphics lib on the cpu but with a cs running the updates
you could run the program at much higher speeds with a bigger grid.

**PS:**I put this in the issues section because i felt like the program was running slowly, probably becasue of java's performance
and it's shitty garbage collector
