I was looking at this very painful Male Wifes and Female Husbands on the Error/Fixes report.
Double clicked on the offending person, got the facts report open, and scrolled right on got this error message.

Could you please add a new pattern 'CensusReference.cs' code for the EW 1939 register references.
The format on the find my past website is RG101/0884D/018/13
if i just copy and paste this FT anlayser says it is an unrecognised census ref.

I had a look at the code to see if there was a format i could convert the above to but none of them allow characters in the 'piece' field.

My Swedish characters gets "Americanized" - it converts Å å Ä ä Ö ö to A a A a O o.

When viewing this report the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen only moves about 5mm, consequently the last column can no longer be seen. I think this may have happened since the introduction of the 1939 register column to the table.

I've just selected the column and dragged it and placed it further to the left and was able to resize it and the scroll bar at the bottom now works.

Receiving error: "unknown fact type OCCUPATION"
Gedcom has multiple OCCUPATION fact type, one of them is causing an error.
FTA on Facebook asked that I uploaded a one person Gedcom that is causing the error.

I have tried this several times with GEDCOM's created from different programs. FT Analyzer opens normally and when I open the GEDCOM it loads the sources and then stalls. This happens on both my Windows 7 Pro 64 desktop and Windows 10 64 laptop. I have uninstalled FTA and re-installed it without success. What am I missing?

When loading a Gedcom I am getting a message that says 'You might get less errors if you turn on the option to 'Use Special Character Filters When Loading' from the Tools Options menu.

However when I go to the Options this selection is grayed out with a note that 'these options are not currently available.' How do I get them available?

Maybe it's not a bug, but if you look at Google Earth, Google Maps, or even Bing maps and find a location west of 0 longitude you'll see the longitude has a minus sign in front of it (that's the standard). Just did a quick look at some of my FTM location. Looks like FTM is using W or E for longitude locations so that must be why they don't have the minus.

FactLocationFixes could be streamlined to check for country fixes and only apply region fixes to a specific country this would avoid issues with similar named regions in different countries.

I have lots of user created facts like, "Death Certificate Status." I only use the Description field and the choices are "Have" or "Need." FTAnalyzer keeps flagging all of them with a message similar to "Duplicated DEATH CERTIFICATE STATUS fact recorded."

Hi Levva,

For certain individuals in my tree, I put the surname in Brackets, e.g. (Burscough). This displays correctly in FTM2017 and in Ancestry. However in FTA, the name in brackets is replaced by UNKNOWN.
I understand replacing blank names with UNKNOWN, but can this variation of using brackets be added?

The GEDCOM standard allows no space between the forenames and the surname, e.g.:
1 NAME John/Smith/

In this situation, FTA loses the last character of the forenames.

To fix, in Individual.cs, at line 319, change:
forenames = startPos == 0 ? Individual.UNKNOWN_NAME : name.Substring(0, startPos -1)
to this:

Allow wildcards in the various surname filters

For SOME of my user entered locations in FTM 2017, the lat/lon showing in FTAnalyzer is 0.0000000/0.0000000 with an entry in the Geocode Status column as GEDCOM/User. However FTM shows at lat/lon.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Enter location in Place field in FTM.
2. FTM responds with a question mark showing the location is not in the Place Name Authority.
3. Open Google Search and enter name of location.
4. Look to see if the Google search results shows a Wikipedia page for the location (normally does).
5. Open the Wikipedia page.
6. Copy lat/lon on Wikipedia page.
7. Paste lat/lon from Wikipedia page into the Location field in the Places Workspace in FTM.
8. Verify the pushpin is in the correct location; if not. manually move the pushpin to the proper location.
9. FTM2017 accepts the location.
10. Export file as a GEDCOM.
11. Open FTAnalyzer and import GEDCOM.
12. Click on Maps - Run Google Geocoder to Find Locations.
13. View Locations Geocoding Status Report; sort by latitude.

I have verified that ALL my locations in FTM 2017 have a lat/long.

As you know Google restricts the number of hits to 50 and then you display a warning

If I come back and run the Geocoder again after 24 hours I continue to get the warning. I have to close FTA and reload the gedcom before I can continue with the next 50 locations.

Is the warning inside FTA only being reset when you relaunch FTA? Reloading the gedcom doesn't change anything, only closing and opening FTA works. It's only a minor pain but when you have 5,000 plus to do, relaunching FTA every day for the next 3 months is going to be a grind.

Describe the bug
The location tabs does not recognize french characters anymore since version update 7.0.3.1. This used to work in previous version.
For instance, Montréal, Canada shows up as MontrA©al, Canada

On Windows 10 running Chrome Browser, import a GEDCOM file from (Ancestry for instance), with french characters.

Double-clicking on a "Solo" family in the family tab doesn't show any Facts for the person.

At least several (possibly all) of the links to One Name Studies site give an error

Some users would like to create a GEDCOM file from their family tree but only containing data relevant to their direct ancestors. This could save a lot of manual editing for users wishing to create a new tree (repeatedly?) with minimal data just for DNA matching purposes.

The more that I thought about this, the more I realised that much of the processing required could be common to FTAnalyser. Hence this request for the introduction of a new tab and feature processing rather than creation of a completely new utility.

The simplest form of output file would exclude any reference to individuals and family members that are not direct ancestors of the Root Person and would only include data records relating to Name, Birth, Marriage and Death. There may be a wish to include Occupation and Census/Residence data at some point, possibly via user selection within the tab.

List all surnames by county so lists can be posted to appropriate forums and social media groups.

The new mapping allows for tileserver urls to be specified.

Add some code to allow users to specify their own tileserver urls which will allow users to specify custom maps for their locality or maps where they have a subscription.

Free BMD searching not currently implemented.

NB. Free BMD is England only so would need a filter on country.

Describe the bug
Exporting a gedcom from FTM allows you to have a date of "never married" for a marriage date. The previous versions of FTA used to allow the import of the file and just reported an error, however, now the whole import fails and reports the error.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Import any gedcom that has been exported from FTM that has a marriage date of "never married"

Expected behavior
The file should still import and show the import errors (as it did in the previous versions), not prevent the whole file from being imported.

As of yesterday (20-Feb-18) the On This Day tool stopped listing any events for me. The screen header comes up but no details are listed.

Cannot find any place to change the search site e.g. find my past, ancestry etc. Online manual refers to 'options' in menu bar but this does not include this ability to change the search site. Am using version 6.2.1.0

The tileserver URLs need to be amended as the old ones have expired.

I've just updated to 6.3.0.1 and the right click option to change Root Person is no longer working for me. Can you advise please?

Not sure if this can be classed as an issue but the display font is tiny on my laptop (Windows 10). Is there a way to increase the font size, please, as my eyes are struggling to read the text. Thanks.

when I send the error to the deployment server it opens a tab per word telling me the %number%number so on is not found.

Observation. Date parser generates incorrect error messages when months are in French

The 1939 Census has been available from Ancestry for some time. Is there an intent to modify FTAnalyzer to permit access to the 1939 census on Ancestry

Please update the documentation showing how to set the 'Lost Cousins' flag within the GRAMPS genealogy software. The following suggested text describes how this can be achieved:

In GRAMPS select the required person record. Add a new 'EVENT' record for this person. In EVENT there is an 'Event Type' field with predefined types accessed using a drop-down button. You can override the predefined items by simply typing a new type into the field. Type 'Lost Cousins' (without the quotes) into this field ignoring the audible warnings when you type. Then enter the relevant census year into the date field for this new Event. Click OK, and then OK again to update the person record with this new 'Lost Cousins entry. GRAMPS also adds 'Lost Cousins' to the valid Event Types, so from this point onward you can access it by starting to type 'Lost Cousins' into the field and selecting 'Lost Cousins', or you can access it from the drop-down and selecting CUSTOM, then 'Lost Cousins'.

On the Facts tab, is it possible to have a tick box to show the opposite of the current reports?
What I was thinking of doing was creating a custom fact along the lines Completed or End of Tree, and add it to those people that died, or married people with no children etc. Running the report and showing me the people who didn't have this custom fact would then be very useful to identify people who need further research. It would also lend itself to other Facts, such as Direct Ancestors where occupation hasn't been added etc.
