I assume you're running serversideup/php:8.1-fpm-apache? (or comparable)

Could you try serversideup/php:beta-8.1-fpm-apache and see if that helps you out?

Also, are you running SE Linux or anything special on your CentOS host? I know in prior experience CentOS would have more restrictions by default compared to Ubuntu.

To add to my last message... In the screenshot below I see there's the Apache scripts. This is my theory that you're actually running my Apache images.

Yes, we were trying to use your php:8.1-fpm-apache Dockerfile "out of the box" and we experience these errors.

In addition, we've tried the beta version you recommended us, as well as the PHP 8.0 and we're also getting the same errors in both of the tries.

Exactly, which configuration are you asking for? Docker-compose.yml maybe?

SELinux is installed in our host but wasn't enabled, I'm afraid we don't have any kind of special configurations with this server.

I am not able to replicate this issue. I have a feeling this may be a server or docker configuration issue and is not related to my image.

Steps I followed

Provision CentOS server
I deployed a brand new CentOS server WITHOUT SELinux:

CentOS Linux release 7.9.2009 (Core)

Install Docker
I followed these instructions to install Docker: https://docs.docker.com/engine/install/centos/

Use my "Docker Test" to run it
I used this example code to run my image: https://github.com/jaydrogers/docker-php-apache-test

Run docker compose up
Inside of that directory, I brought up my containers with Docker compose.

Results

I was able to get a working WordPress install.
