nootka's Issues

Is it possible to load a MusicXML to Lessons -> Play Scores?

Hello.

I want to play guitar with "Lessons -> Play Scores" with my own .mxl file created by MusuScore4.
But currently Load button of "Lessons -> Play Scores" only accept .nel file.
Is it possible to load .mxl file or create .nel file to play guitar with?
Please teach me how to create custom .nel file.

Possible Issues and my Suggestions

I'm new on github, so maybe this topic is in the wrong place. But here it goes...

I’m a music professor, instrumentalist, composer and singer from Brazil.
I've been using the app for the last week and it is incredibly helpful, but I would like to offer my feedback and some suggestions. (And I working on a Brazilian-Portuguese translation)

Here it goes:

  1. Generate melody from XML files from the first page, outside the lessons menu. (it's only working under the level creator option or the lessons created with it)

  2. Max interval input for the generated melodies lessons / created or standard. (the option is only available from the first page “Melodies>Generate Melodies” and it's hard for singers to jump high intervals)

  3. Add a more intuitive range config for singers inside the “Instrument” tab. (“other instruments” option needs to be range configured every time, I would suggest a Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass as standard options inside a “Singer/Voice” tab.

  4. A way to listen to melodies generated from the Lessons/Exercices options. I am frequently using the app for sight singing/reading and can't hear the melodies from the exercises tab. ( guess it should be off only in the exam tab)

  5. A way to really deactivate pitch recognition while working on the exercises, since it does not work every time, due to noise or mic misconfiguration.

  6. Add an option to deactivate “Edit Score” from the config menu or starting with it off. There is the option for deactivating, with “E” or by clicking the score menu, but since it's ON by default sometimes it gets confusing and causes accidental clicking/modifying of the score.

  7. A more visible “PLAY” button on the android app, to start playing the generated melodies. I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out how to play, before I accidentally clicked and dragged to see the options.

  8. At last, it would be awesome to have a fully Piano Grand Staff music generated, for real life sight reading purposes. One melodie for each staff would already be awesome, but it can go even further with 4 part voices generated, two for each staf, with harmony intel.

I’m really glad to see an open source app like Nootka. It's really helpful and certainly will add to a lot of musicians and teachers around the world.

Tell me if I could help with anything.

Thank you!
