Revert attempt to upgrade

pulled in new code to try and build new docker where manager2 runs
fails in compile of maize module now

--> solution: revert back to december commit (decide which one based on timing)

upgrade to make manager 2 work

find out why manager2 is not .so but only .dll (which doesn't seem to run in linux docker)
build new docker to make manager2 run
do this in seperate branch
