Hi there,

Thanks for the great work on this script! Tried running it on my Redmi K20 Pro running Shapeshift OS 2.7 (Android 11) and rooted with Magisk 23.

Running the script on an EndeavourOS Arch Installation with ffmpeg and ADB correctly installed, yet the script gives an error saying that the devices is not rooted. https://i.imgur.com/NIQHCBL.png

Is it possible to save snaps from someone's stories? I know that if I watch them once with the Internet on, then I can do it without the Internet, so they have to be saved somewhere in my memory. You know where?

If adb device return only one device, we can assume it's the good one and use its serial ?
I think it's pretty convenient to be able to just run the script as is without having to do extra steps (simple and fast, I agree) to get the device serial every time.
I would be glad to do a pull request to add that feature, I just wanted to know your opinion about it ?

From the description I got the impression that this would recover actual snaps that you received from users. However, I think chat_snap isn't the right directory for this. Am I wrong in this assumption? Because it seems like the script is only recovering snaps that have been sent in a chat as opposed to normally.

I tried doing this with my own script but the only thing I found is that the deletion of Snaps happens immediately after viewing instead of minutes after viewing or closing the app. Stories also do not seem to be downloaded/cached as a whole but rather downloads just before its being opened. Sure, it makes the attack harder but not that much harder.

If you open the app and allow downloading of snaps and then run the script, this would still work (my script does, which is not very different from yours).

I can see on your github page that Snapchat has patched this vulnerability. Is it possible to somehow recover a saved snap in the chat and then deleted after half an hour by the sender? I would like to know if for sure this is possible before rooting the phone and I really care about it...
