prospero2's Introduction

Prospero

A IIIF Presentation API 2.0 Reader created with Backbone.js & Marionette.js.

Quick start

Clone or download this repo.

git clone [email protected]:sdellis/prospero2.git && cd prospero2

Make sure Node.js and npm are installed.

npm install
npm install -g gulp
gulp

Once that's done, open up http://localhost:9000/ in your browser. This is currently meant to be used in conjunction with Manifesto, although the two will be decoupled completely in the near future.

Guide

There are additional README.md files all throughout the application. However, the documentation is a work in progress.

As a general rule, be sure to read through all of the source code yourself and make sure you understand what is happening.

Directories Purpose

prospero2's Issues

Add Images to Canvas

As a Presentation Creator
I want to select an image resource from any number of pre-configured IIIF-friendly servers and apply it to a canvas
So I can add custom content to a Presentation

Discover Images

As a Presentation Creator,
I would like to discover (browse/search) images from a variety of IIIF Image Servers
so that I have some content for my manifests.

Configure manifest options

As a Presentation Creator
I want to set attributes such as a "start" page, viewer direction, and other configuration options
So presentations are displayed properly in a viewer

Add, Delete, Sort Canvases within a Sequence

As a Presentation Creator
I want to add, delete, and rearrange (probably drag-n-drop in "thumbnail grid" view) canvases within a sequence
So that I can create basic manifests

Add arbitrary text to blank canvas

As a Presentation Creator
I want to add/edit/delete ad-hoc content to a blank canvas with basic layout tools (markdown, resource-to-segment associations, embedded content)
So I can add copyright statement insertions, blank/missing page statements, create custom content, and possibly even ePub import/export.
